COLUMBUS – State Rep. Elliot Forhan (D-South Euclid) today applauds the announcement of 27 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to be built along seven of Ohio’s interstate corridors thanks largely to $18 million dollars of federal funding from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program.

“Climate change is a crisis and we must act now to avoid the worst consequences. I served as a field organizer for President Biden’s presidential campaign and ran for the Ohio House of Representatives on the basis of building up Ohio’s clean energy infrastructure. By building clean energy and expanding Ohio’s electric-vehicle infrastructure, we will guarantee a higher quality of life for our children and generations to come in Ohio,” said Rep. Forhan.

Ohio will now be a national leader in developing charging stations for public use. Ohio is the first state in the nation to develop charging stations that will be funded by President Joe Biden’s NEVI Program.

Electric vehicles will help us meet ambitious climate goals, while providing good-paying jobs and economic stimulus to the state.
