Ohio House Democrats Condemn Assault on Israel

COLUMBUS – Ohio House Democratic leadership and members, Reps. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington), Dontavius Jarrells (D-Columbus), Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park), Tavia Galonski (D-Akron), Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Westlake), Terrence Upchurch (D-Cleveland), Michele Grim (D-Toledo), Ismail Mohamed (D-Columbus), Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati), Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson), Elliot Forhan (D-South Euclid), today released the following statement on the deadly surprise attack by Hamas militants who fired thousands of rockets from Gaza toward central and southern Israel, leading to multiple Israeli civilian casualties and injuries:

“We condemn the violent assault on Israeli citizens in the strongest terms and stand with the people of Israel against any form of terrorism and extremism. Ohio is a longstanding and proud partner of Israel, and we support the Jewish and Israeli citizens who call Ohio home. This attack, designed to sew fear and terror, raises alarms for everyone across the globe committed to peace and stability.”

“Every Israeli and Palestinian deserves to live without fear of violence. We are praying for the families who have already lost loved ones and who are worried about the days to come, and we stand firmly in support of the peaceful lives they deserve. This year, many of us were able to be a part of a bipartisan educational mission to Israel, where we saw, firsthand, determination and courage in the face of constant threats. We support the untiring pursuit of a safe, secure and free future for Israel.”
