COLUMBUS — State Rep. Dick Stein, R-Norwalk, whose 57th Ohio House District includes a portion of Lorain County, recently was appointed to both the Huron County Transportation Improvement District Board and the Ohio Power Siting Board.

TIDs are housed under the Ohio Department of Transportation and make decisions on the local financing, construction, maintenance, repair and operation of transportation and infrastructure projects. Stein was approved via resolution earlier this week by the Huron Board of Commissioners.

The power siting board makes decisions on significant energy facilities throughout the state. Before construction can begin on any major utility facility or economically significant wind farm within the state of Ohio, a certificate of environmental compatibility and public need must be obtained by the board.

Stein will serve on both respective bodies as a nonvoting legislative member who offers input and expertise on the subject matters.

“I am honored to receive these appointments by members of our communities and this state,” Stein said. “I intend to bring my years of service and experience to the table when making decisions on both transportation and infrastructure improvements for our area as well as supporting critical energy policy across Ohio."
