State Representative Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today announced his nomination to both the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee and the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3). The son of a military officer who grew up across the nation before attending the United States Air Force Academy, Weinstein brings personal and professional experience to the panels.

"I was fortunate to be stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after graduating from the Academy," added Weinstein. "Having had the opportunity to steep myself in Ohio's deep aviation and aerospace history while on Active Duty, I am excited to engage yet again in my new capacity as a state representative. Everyone knows Ohio is the birthplace of aviation, but that was only the beginning. We can continue to lead in aerospace and aviation for years to come.”

Ohio’s Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee brings industry and military leaders, academic experts and elected officials together to further the rich aerospace and aviation legacy in the Buckeye State.

“It is always an honor to serve,” said Weinstein. "I know how easy it is for children to fall behind moving from school to school when their parents are in the military because I've been there. All of our children in Ohio deserve exceptional public education, no matter how long they are enrolled here."

MIC3 works to address key challenges encountered by military families, including eligibility, enrollment, placement, and graduation.

Weinstein represents Ohio’s 37th House district, which includes the entirety of Hudson, Macedonia, Munroe Falls, Northfield Center Township, Northfield Village, Reminderville, Silver Lake, Stow, Twinsburg, and Twinsburg Township, as well as portions of Cuyahoga Falls.
