Rep. Weinstein Calls for Action to Ensure Ohio's Rail Safety Following East Palestine Disaster

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson), along with members of the House Democratic Caucus, today sent a letter to the Ohio House Finance Committee and the Ohio House Transportation Subcommittee of Finance suggesting a series of amendments to the State Transportation Budget following the tragic events in East Palestine. 

“Ohioans are understandably frustrated and concerned for how this disaster may continue to impact our environment and the health and safety of our communities. Our constituents deserve clear answers and immediate action to make sure rail catastrophes like what happened in East Palestine don’t happen again,” said Rep. Weinstein.

The Ohio House Finance Committee is scheduled to meet next on Tuesday, February 21st and the biennial Transportation Budget must be passed by Friday, March 31st.
