COLUMBUS – State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today is pleased to announce that the Controlling Board approved $67,614,578 in state funding Monday for the Stow-Munroe Falls City School District. These funds, allocated through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission's Classroom Facilities Assistance Program (CFAP), will support the construction of new educational facilities.

"This funding is the least we owe our taxpayers, who deserve to see their contributions directly benefit our community," said Rep. Weinstein. "Investing in modern school facilities not only creates a conducive learning environment for our students but also reaffirms our commitment to supporting our local districts’ needs.”

The funding will support the following initiatives:

  • Construction of four new elementary schools for grades PK-5;
  • Establishment of one new middle school for grades 6-8;
  • Demolition of several outdated schools in favor of the new facilities, including Echo Hills, Fishcreek, Highland, Indian Trail, Riverview, Lakeview Intermediate, and Kimpton Middle School; and
  • Expansion of Stow-Munroe Falls High School to accommodate grades 9-12 and Career Tech programs.
