COLUMBUS – State Rep. Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville) and State Senator Jay Hottinger (R-Newark) today presented Hunter Armstrong a House Resolution for his momentous accomplishment of competing in the 2020 Olympic Sumer Games and being a gold medal winner in the medley relay in swimming.

Hunter started his swimming career in Tuscarawas County at Dover High School. From a humble beginning, he has now found himself atop the podium representing the United States in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

“Hunter is an extraordinary talent and even better man and it was a joy to meet with him to hear about the trials and tribulations of an Olympic Athlete from my home district,” said Hillyer.

Hunter continues to use his platform to encourage others to follow their dreams. Those who watched him grow throughout the years remain in his corner and he works diligently to make his friends, family, and fans proud.

This achievement is truly noteworthy; Hunter Armstrong has clearly demonstrated his talent and perseverance, as well as his mental and physical fortitude as an athlete through his accomplishments as a United States Olympic Swimming gold medalist.
