House Committee Passes Bill to Designate Tuscarawas Valley Memorial Highway
COLUMBUS—The House Transportation Committee today passed House Bill 380, legislation to establish the Tuscarawas Valley Memorial Highway, announced bill sponsors, State Reps. Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville) and Kevin Miller (R-Newark).
The bill will specifically designate a portion of I-70 in Licking County as the Tuscarawas Valley Memorial Highway in honor of the victims of the fatal bus accident that took place on November 14, 2023.
“This bill holds significance to our community and serves as a tribute to the lives lost and families forever changed by the tragic accident that impacted the Tuscarawas Valley community,” said Hillyer during sponsor testimony.
“By designating the highway in remembrance, we ensure that the lives lost are never forgotten and that their legacy continues to inspire future generations to prioritize safety on our roadways,” said Miller.
House Bill 380 now heads to the House floor for a vote.
