COLUMBUS – State Representative Brett Hillyer (R-Uhrichsville) announced two projects in his district that will be receiving funding from the round two allocations of Ohio BUILDS (Broadband, Utilities, and Infrastructure for Local Development Success) funds.

Ohio BUILDS was created by Governor DeWine and is a water infrastructure grant program that reduces or eliminates the financial burden on localities associated with critical infrastructure needs such as the replacement of old water lines, construction of new water systems, and the installation of new water mains.

The Village of Nashville Ohio, located in Holmes County, will receive a $1.3 million grant to replace a hydro-booster tank. The existing tank in the village is undersized and in need of replacement. The grant will provide a new above-ground storage tank for the community. This project will benefit 187 people.

In addition, Baltic Village, located in Tuscarawas County will be granted $367,719 to replace the waterlines within the village with larger lines along Maple Street. This project will improve safety within the community by providing a reliable water distribution system for fire suppression. These funds will also allow for the prospect of future growth and economic development for Baltic Village.

“Seeing Ohio BUILDS money find its way to communities throughout Ohio’s 98th district is wonderful to see and I look forward to the completion of these projects so our communities and realize the benefits,” said Hillyer.
