Rep. Dean Honors Janet Carter on Being Named the 2015 CEAO Teacher of the Year
Today, State Representative Bill Dean (R-Xenia) presented a resolution to Janet Carter on being named the 2015 Correctional Education Association of Ohio (CEAO) teacher of the year at Ohio House session.
Janet is an administrative professional support teacher at the Madison Correctional Institution of the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. This year marked her 17th year of teaching as a correctional education teacher. Prior to this job, she taught Administrative Office Technology for nearly ten years at Ohio River Valley Juvenile Correctional Facility.
Janet has earned an Associate’s degree, a Bachelor’s of Specialized Studies with a Human Relations concentration, a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, and is currently enrolled in the Education Administration Master’s degree program at Ashland University.
“I am proud to join Representative Koehler in honoring Janet Carter for being awarded the title of ‘teacher of the year’ by the Correctional Education Association of Ohio,” said Rep. Dean. “Her 17 years of service in teaching have impacted countless individuals and I wish her the best as she continues this important work.”
