House Democratic Caucus Unanimously Reelects Russo as Minority Leader, Entire Leadership Team for 136th General Assembly
COLUMBUS — The House Democratic Caucus Tuesday in a unanimous show of support reelected Rep. C. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) as House Minority Leader for the upcoming 136th General Assembly.
“I’m grateful for the faith my colleagues have shown in me, and I’m excited to take on the important work ahead in the next General Assembly,” said Leader Russo.
The Caucus-wide vote also unanimously reaffirmed the trust in the current leadership team, reelecting Rep. Dontavius Jarrells (D-Columbus) as Assistant Minority Leader, Rep. Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) as Minority Whip, and Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) as Assistant Minority Whip.
“The House Democratic Caucus remains united in our mission of prioritizing policies that put people over politics to help find bipartisan solutions to improve the lives of all Ohioans. It’s imperative we work across the aisles to make the individual lives of Ohio’s working families better by passing bills such as lowering property taxes, making healthcare more affordable and accessible, and keeping our streets and schools safe,” said Leader Russo.
House Democrats during the 135th General Assembly were successful in passing legislation that put people first by prioritizing the betterment of individuals from different backgrounds and communities, including:

· Require AEDs in Schools (House Bill 47)
· Modern Adoption Law (House Bill 50)
· Enact Madeline’s Law (House Bill 152)
· Eliminate Spousal Exceptions for Certain Sex Offenses (House Bill 161)
· Create a Respectful & Open World for Natural Hair Act (House Bill 178)
· Brenna Brossard SUDEP Awareness Act (House Bill 229)
· Requiring Feminine Hygiene Products in Correctional Facilities (House Bill 30)
