Rep. Weinstein statement on Generation Now Guilty Plea

State Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson), Ranking Member of the Ohio House Energy and Natural Resources Committee, today renewed his calls to remove Republican State Rep. Larry Householder (R-Glenford) from the Ohio House of Representatives following Generation Now’s guilty plea to federal racketeering charges. Generation Now, along with Rep. Householder and four co-conspirators, was first charged seven months ago in response to a $60 million bribery and racketeering scheme centered around the passage of House Bill 6.

“With Generation Now’s plea earlier today, three of the six entities originally charged have pled guilty,” said Rep. Weinstein. “Legislators must be held to a higher standard of behavior to maintain the public trust, and every day Larry Householder is allowed to continue serving in this body, we betray the citizens of Ohio. As evidence of wrong-doing continues to grow, Speaker Bob Cupp must take immediate action to remove Larry Householder and restore the integrity of the Ohio House of Representatives.”
