CANTON –On September 7th, State Rep. Thomas West (D-Canton) hosted a stop on the Ohio House Democrats’ Working Families First Tour in Canton. The event was part of a statewide series of town hall where Democratic state lawmakers discuss ongoing efforts to protect Ohioans’ freedom to make their own health care decisions and support families. Rep. West’s event also gave Ohioans the opportunity to ask questions and offer input on ways to address the issues facing their communities.
“It is critical that we protect Ohioans’ freedom to make their own health care decisions and support working families in every way possible,” said Rep. West. “Today’s event served as a reminder of my dedication to House Democrats’ core principles and my continuing effort to bring the Statehouse to your house.”
Rep. West discussed the Democrats’ Families First Agenda to protect and expand women’s access to reproductive health care, reduce costs for families, keep communities safe, and invest in our children and future.
Rep. West plans to host another town hall on September 15th from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Canton Metropolitan Event Centre (601 Cleveland Ave. NW, 3rd floor, Canton, OH 44702). This event will be focused around civil rights, and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC) Director, Angela Phelps-White, and her staff will be in attendance to answer questions and share information about the services that OCRC provides.
