COLUMBUS – State Rep. Tavia Galonski (D-Akron) issued a statement today after the Ohio Supreme Court, in a 4-3 decision, struck down the Congressional maps passed by Republicans in November.
“For the second time in less than a week, the Ohio Supreme Court has affirmed that we must have fair maps that keep communities together,” said Rep. Galonski. “Now, I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to produce a fair congressional map that represents the preferences of Ohio voters. It is imperative that we get back to work to draw the fair, representative maps that the people of Ohio expected.”
Earlier this week the Ohio Supreme Court, also in a 4-3 decision, threw out Ohio House and Senate legislative maps that were passed by the Republicans members of the Ohio Redistricting Commission last year.
