COLUMBUS– State Reps. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) and Mike Sheehy (D-Oregon)’s House Bill (HB) 24 honoring Toledo-born NASA legend Eugene “Gene” F. Kranz unanimously passed the Ohio House. The bill designates August 17, the birthday of Gene Kranz, “Eugene ‘Gene’ F. Kranz Day.”
“Gene Kranz once said ‘Failure is not an option,’ and was an Ohio-born American hero,” said Rep. Sobecki. “Honoring Gene Kranz today is one step to recognize the thousands of men and women who built the success of American space exploration.”
“As NASA’s Chief Flight Director for this country’s most important aerospace missions, Eugene Kranz served this county with integrity and honor. I am pleased my colleagues have also recognized Mr. Kranz’s contributions, and have voted unanimously to advance HB 24,” said Rep. Sheehy.
HB 24 will now move to the Ohio Senate for their consideration.
