COLUMBUS – State Representative Michael Sheehy (D-Oregon) today announced the introduction of the $2.1 billion capital appropriations budget for fiscal years 2021-2022 as an amendment during the Senate Bill (SB) 310 conference committee. The capital appropriations budget includes $186.5 million for community projects, a number of which that will benefit Lucas County including:
- $800,000 in funds for Toledo Zoo Entry Complex and Tiger and Bear Exhibit
- $400,000 in funds for Imagination Station
- $150,000 in funds for the Toledo Museum of Art
“I am happy to see nearly $5 million headed to Lucas County through the Capital Budget. These projects will support educational initiatives and economic development throughout the county. As we continue to weather the Coronavirus pandemic, the passage of the Capital Budget will provide much needed assistance to keep Ohio’s economy strong and moving forward,” said Rep. Sheehy.
The capital budget and SB 310 are anticipated to advance to the House floor for a vote on the conference committee report on Thursday.
