State Rep. Mary Lightbody (D-Westerville) today announced the start of the open enrollment period for healthcare coverage through the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The open enrollment period will run from Nov. 1 to Jan. 15, 2022, with coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2022.

“Access to affordable health insurance is crucial for all Ohioans; we all should be able to have the healthcare we need without spending years paying off huge medical bills. All plans offered through the marketplace cover essential health benefits, pre-existing conditions, and preventive services. I encourage my constituents to take a few moments to review the options are available in Central Ohio and enroll in or retain the plan that is right for them,” said Rep. Lightbody.

“Providing healthcare coverage to all Ohioans regardless of pre-existing conditions is one of my top priorities. Earlier this year, Rep. Jeff Crossman (D-Parma) and I introduced House Bill 125, the Pre-existing Condition Protection Act to enshrine this right in Ohio law.”

All US citizens or immigrants who are lawfully present in the U.S. are eligible to enroll in health coverage through the Marketplace.
