COLUMBUS – State Representative Mark Fraizer (R-Newark) is pleased to see the United States Congress officially passed the CHIPS for America Act. He has released the following statement:
“The action by Congress this week to pass the CHIPS for America Act will prove to be transformative for not only Licking County and Ohio but for the entire United States as a whole.
The CHIPS for America Act invests $52 billion into the United States to allow for the production of semiconductor chips on American soil. This domestic investment will improve national security, grow the economy, and solidify Ohio as the semiconductor manufacturing capital. With Intel’s investment in Licking County, we will see the on-shoring of a critical industry right here in Ohio.
“Issues with the current supply-chain have illustrated the need for this investment and Licking County is pleased to be the site for the largest economic development project in Ohio’s history, thanks to Intel.”
Representative Fraizer also added “I thank the members of Congress for their support of this extremely important legislation and I look forward to working with our local elected officials to facilitate the growth of this industry throughout Ohio.”
