State Rep. Lisa Sobecki (D-Toledo) released a statement today expressing support of a woman’s right to choose on the 47th anniversary of the Supreme Court Roe v. Wade Decision.
“For 47 years, it has been established by our country’s highest court that every woman, regardless of who they are, rich or poor, have the right to choose to do what they feel is best for themselves, whether it be to give birth to a child, have an abortion, or put a child up for adoption,” said state Rep. Sobecki. “There is a movement to restrict a woman’s access to abortion. I want to repeat something I’ve said over and over. Restricting access to safe abortions will not stop abortions. Instead, it puts women at greater health risks. Abortions are a normal medical procedure and the decision a woman makes should be between her and her doctor, not an over-zealous government.”
