COLUMBUS – State Rep. Laura Lanese (R-Grove City) was appointed by House Speaker Larry Householder to the Ohio House 2020 Economic Recovery Task Force. The new body is a bipartisan panel tasked with studying how to help Ohio’s economy recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This initiative will be critical as we move forward with getting Ohio’s economy back on track,” said Lanese. “My hope is that we can prepare an economic plan that will ultimately benefit individuals and families going through financial hardships during this time.”
Altogether, Householder appointed 24 legislators to this body, with the bipartisan group being geographically diverse, representing urban, suburban and rural communities from across Ohio.
The panel began meeting this week. There will be guests at each meeting from the business, manufacturing, retail, wholesale, services and recreational sectors to discuss their experience and brainstorm ways to rebound Ohio’s job market once COVID-19 has run its course. The panel will meet via teleconferencing and videoconferencing during this time of social distancing.
Representative Lanese is in her second term serving Ohio’s 23rd District, which covers portions of southwestern Franklin County, including Grove City, parts of Brown, Jackson and Prairie townships, and part of Hilliard. She is a member of the Ohio House leadership team, serving as assistant majority whip.
