COLUMBUS – State Rep. Miranda (D-Forest Park) today announced that House Bill (HB) 250 unanimously passed the Ohio House on Wednesday of this week. This bill allows high school graduates preparing to enlist in a Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program or those appointed to military service academy the privilege of having a military seal on their high school diploma.

Miranda (D-Forest Park) today held a press conference to discuss legislation they will soon be introducing, The STAND UP Act (Strike Term Access to Negotiation Duration Unemployment Protection), a bill essential to the support of workers across the state of Ohio. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Jessica Miranda (D-Forest Park) Monday announced that the Controlling Board has approved the release of $7.8M to construct electric vehicle charging stations at 10 sites along Interstates 70-71 and Interstates 75-77. Charging stations built under this program will ensure that EV drivers have safe, comfortable, and convenient places to charge. Ohio has led the charge to initiate procurement as part of the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program under President Joe Biden, becoming the first state in the nation to break ground on a National EV Infrastructure station.

The bill would provide clear legal protections for same-sex and interracial marriages in Ohio, giving them the same rights and benefits as other married couples.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) announced today that House Bill (HB 35), the Scout’s Honor Law, has been signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine. This law eliminates the statute of limitations for victims of childhood sexual abuse participating in a bankruptcy settlement. This bill was crafted so that the survivors of abuse from the Boy Scouts of America may participate in the national bankruptcy settlement. Ohio survivors can now receive 100% of their settlement. 

COLUMBUS - State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) this week announced an important information session for seniors. Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) Director Judith L. French and Medicare experts from the department’s Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) are hosting a free, virtual town hall on Thursday, October. 12 at 11:30 a.m. to help Ohioans on Medicare prepare for the upcoming Medicare open enrollment period. This town hall will cover important changes to Medicare in 2024.
