COLUMBUS— State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) this week received the Ohio School Counselor Association (OSCA) Advocate of the Year Award. Miranda was presented with the award for her ongoing efforts to support school counselors who are on the front lines educating students every day.
“It is an honor to have been chosen for this award by the Ohio School Counselor Association,” said Miranda. “Too often, their hard, thankless work goes unnoticed. I am proud to be a loud voice advocating for fairness for our school counselors. Without them, our kids would not have the appropriate resources necessary for academic, physical and mental development.”
The Ohio School Counselor Association is a professional organization that represents and advocates on behalf of school counselors all over the state of Ohio. It is responsible for empowering, uniting and supporting professional school counselors in their role of promoting student success.
