COLUMBUS – State Rep. Jessica Miranda (D-Forest Park) today applauds the announcement of 27 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to be built along seven of Ohio’s interstate corridors thanks largely to $18 million dollars of federal funding from the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program.
“First, I want to thank President Biden for the NEVI program and the funding for this project. I am so pleased that Ohio will be building 27 new electric charging stations and will be participating in the NEVI program. This project will have a positive impact on our state – this is good, not only for our environment, but for Ohio’s economy and infrastructure as well. I am happy to see that Ohio is leading the charge in public use and public access to alternative energy sources,” said Rep. Miranda.
Ohio will now be a national leader in developing charging stations for public use. Ohio is the first state in the nation to develop charging stations that will be funded by President Joe Biden’s NEVI Program.
Electric vehicles will help us meet ambitious climate goals, while providing good-paying jobs and economic stimulus to the state.
