State Rep. Jessica Miranda (D-Forest Park) today announced her appointment to Ohio Latino Affairs Board of Commissioners as a legislative non-voting member.

“As the mother of three Latina daughters, I am honored to serve Ohio’s Hispanic and Latinex citizens in this role.” said Miranda. “There is so much more our great state can do to better serve this community and its economic and workforce development. I look forward to getting to work.”

Established in 1977, the Ohio Commission on Hispanic and Latino Affairs Board of Commissioners consists of eleven members appointed by the Governor. The board works to maintain the commissions core values of advising the legislature on priority issues affecting the Latino community, connecting Ohio’s diverse Latino communities to establish better information and resource sharing, and building the state’s capacity of Latino organizations through grant partnership and education programs.

Rep. Miranda is serving her first term in the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the people of the 28th District.
