State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) announced this week the release of a $3,576,000 grant from the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) to the Reading Community City School District.
“I am excited that Reading Community City School district will receive this essential funding to help improve the quality of academics in the district,” said Miranda. “The state has made a good faith effort to promote education and ensure that our children are given opportunity to succeed. I applaud the OFCC for awarding this grant to Reading Community Schools and for the high priority they have set for education in my district and across Ohio.”
In addition to infrastructure improvements, the funds will help give students and faculty the necessary materials to succeed in the best learning environment possible. The OFCC funds are part of a statewide grant program totaling $27,525,097, of which Reading Community School District is one of the first recipients.
The grant was announced at Monday’s meeting of the state Controlling Board, a bipartisan panel that oversees state spending.
