COLUMBUS— State Rep. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) today announced Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants will be made available to cover certain local pandemic response costs in Ohio. Funds will go to state and local authorities as well as non-profits, such as hospitals, working at the direction of local governments.

“The availability of these FEMA grants are so important to counties engaging in an active pandemic response,” said Rep. Miranda. “There has been a rapid response to prevent the spread of this virus by Hamilton County. It is vital that they have all the necessary resources to continue the good work keeping Ohioans safe and healthy.”

Once an application for reimbursement is approved, FEMA will cover 75 percent of certain pandemic response costs, such as:

  • Emergency Operation Center costs;
  • State agency purchases in response to COVID-19;
  • Disinfection of eligible public facilities;
  • Personal Protection Equipment;
  • Temporary medical facilities and enhanced hospital capacity.

Grant application forms and other information on public assistance for COVID-19 response efforts can be found on the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Emergency Management Agency website.

Completed funding application requests should be sent to emarecovery@dps.ohio.gov
