Ohio state Reps. Jeffrey A. Crossman (D-Parma) and Bride Rose Sweeney (D-Cleveland) today sent a letter* to Governor Mike DeWine asking him to veto several provisions within the state budget, House Bill 166, they say are problematic.
“Each of the items are of significant interest to our respective House Districts and, by leaving these items in the bill, these items have the potential to hurt the constituents of our Districts,” wrote the lawmakers.

The issues with the jail in Cuyahoga County did not develop overnight and appear to represent a failure of a larger system. However, it is important to be clear, our purpose with this proposal is not to cast blame or find fault, it is to acknowledge the existing problems and work together to make improvements that deliver on Ohio's promise to treat all of its citizens fairly and with dignity.”
