COLUMBUS – Today, State Rep. Jeffrey Crossman (D-Parma) issued the following statement after the Ohio House passed a resolution condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Rep. Crossman co-sponsored the resolution offered in the wake of the war in Ukraine.
“I've watched in horror at the events unfolding in Ukraine knowing that many friends and neighbors in my community have family who are trying to survive this calamity. We must stand together to oppose this unprovoked attack and unequivocally condemn Russia's attempt to return us all to the brink of nuclear war,” said Rep. Crossman. "This is more than one isolated attack, it's yet another attack on democracy and freedom that Putin has been working to undermine for many years. We cannot allow ruthless dictators like Putin to prevail."
There are approximately 43,000 Ukrainians in Ohio. Parma, which Rep. Crossman represents, is home to Ohio’s largest Ukrainian population.
