House Democratic Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today announced the release of $486,218.00 in state funds for the Buckingham Building Renovations project at the University of Akron. The addition of nearly $500,000.00 totals almost $1,600,000.00 in state capital allocated to the renovation of this academic space. The state funds will aid in the upgrade of building mechanical and fire alarm systems, renovation of five academic spaces, and increase of support and office space.
