Leader Sykes announces 2019 Trails Opening Day nature walk
House Democratic Leader and state Rep. Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) today invited constituents to Akron’s Towpath Trail for a nature walk celebrating Ohio Trails Opening Day. The walk will take place on Saturday, April 13 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ohio & Erie Towpath Trail entrance near Spaghetti Warehouse, located at 510 S. Main Street in Akron, Ohio.
“We are fortunate to have so many beautiful scenic trails in Ohio for our community to enjoy,” said Leader Sykes. “I invite everyone to join me in celebrating Trails Opening Day on a casual nature walk of Akron’s historic Towpath Trail.”
The 2019 Trails Opening Day is part of a statewide initiative to walk Ohio’s trails sponsored by the Ohio Legislative Trails Caucus, a bicameral group of legislators who support Ohio’s extensive trails systems.
Sykes, a member of the Ohio Legislative Trails Caucus and the House Minority Leader, represents Ohio House District 34, which includes Akron and parts of Cuyahoga Falls and Bath Township.
