Rep. Brigid Kelly (D-Cincinnati) issued a statement on Gov. DeWine’s veto of Senate Bill (SB) 22, controversial legislation that would threaten the health and safety of Ohioans by curbing authority from the governor and health director during public health crises. Rep. Kelly voted against the bill and sent the governor a letter urging his veto.
“Our priority should be putting the health and safety of Ohioans first, and unfortunately, SB 22 only succeeds at putting that at risk,” said Rep. Kelly. “This is a dangerous bill that was rushed through the legislature surrounded by misinformation. I support the Governor’s veto.”
