COLUMBUS— State Rep. Brigid Kelly (D-Cincinnati) today announced Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants will be made available to cover certain local pandemic response costs in Ohio. Funds will go to state and local authorities as well as non-profits, such as hospitals, working at the direction of local governments.

“We must do everything we can, working together, to ensure the physical and economic health of Ohioans. This federal funding will give the opportunity for more resources for our local governments to continue trying to meet the great needs in our communities,” said Rep. Kelly.

Once an application for reimbursement is approved, FEMA will cover 75 percent of certain pandemic response costs, such as:

  • Emergency Operation Center costs;
  • State agency purchases in response to COVID-19;
  • Disinfection of eligible public facilities;
  • Personal Protection Equipment;
  • Temporary medical facilities and enhanced hospital capacity.

Grant application forms and other information on public assistance for COVID-19 response efforts can be found on the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Emergency Management Agency website.

Completed funding application requests should be sent to emarecovery@dps.ohio.gov
