COLUMBUS – State Representative Bob Young (R-Green) announced today that House Bill 321 passed out of Agriculture and Conservation Committee today with a vote of eight to zero.
The Legislation will make needed modernizations and updated to the licensing process of becoming an auctioneer.
House Bill 321 will eliminate the outdated apprenticeship requirements that exist with the current process for obtaining a license to become an auctioneer. Additionally, the bill will require all auctioneers to complete an eight-hour training course every two years coinciding with their license renewal.
“As an auctioneer myself it is encouraging to see the Ohio House Agriculture and Conservation committee recognize the need for this simple yet effective bill that will provide necessary and common-sense improvements to the process of becoming a licensed auctioneer in Ohio,” added Young. “I look forward to this bill coming to the house floor for a vote soon and expect bipartisan support.”
