COLUMBUS – This week, the Ohio House of Representatives passed House bill 687, legislation proposing the state’s new two-year construction budget.
State Representative Bob Young (R-Green) supported the measure with a “yes” vote to fund infrastructure projects in the Akron area.
“Things like infrastructure and education are positive investments that lay the groundwork for the community’s future,” said Young. “I’m grateful that the funding was secured for projects that promote prosperity.”
Young highlighted the following projects that received funding under the legislation:
- $250,000 for Summit County Fairground Improvements
- $500,000 for the International Soap Box Derby
- $100,000 for the Akron Zoo Additional animal Housing Phase II
“I was proud to support these projects and I will forward to seeing them started,” said Young.
The bill has sent to the Governor for his signature.
