House Bill 423 Passes Ohio House
COLUMBUS – State Representative Bob Young (R-Green) is pleased to announce that House Bill 423, legislation Joint-Sponsored with State Representative Bill Roemer (R-Richfield) has passed out of the Ohio House.
“House Bill 423 is legislation that hits home for those from the Akron area, the All-American Soap Box Derby is a wonderful event in our community that gives so many the opportunity to compete and socialize while leaving a significant economic, social, and educational impact on generations of people at home and abroad,” said Young.
This bill will designate the Derby as the official gravity-racing program of the State of Ohio. Since 1934, Ohio has proudly hosted the event that leaves a positive impact on so many. Competitors and spectators alike from across the country and world attend the derby, which provides an economic boost for those in the community.
The All-American Soap Box Derby is a nonprofit organization, which helps provide kids with recreational and educational opportunities through soapbox derby racing.
