State Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) issues the following statement on the announcement of a $500 million investment into the Appalachian Community Grant Program:

“As your state representative, I have worked to secure lots of funding for our communities already through our state and capital budgets, and this here is another success story. This huge investment is going to allow our local governments, non-profits and others to apply for the grant program to advance community improvements, and redevelopment projects and to build our workforce. This is a good day for our communities of the Mahoning Valley.”

The $500 million in funding stems from House Bill 377, which was passed by the General Assembly in June. Cutrona is a cosponsor and voted to support the legislation.

Applications will be accepted beginning on Wednesday, Nov. 2. More details on eligible applicants and how to apply can be found here.
