State Rep. Al Cutrona (R-Canfield) announces the Ohio Tax Credit Authority  (TCA) approved a collaborative project between Macy’s Corporate Services, Jackson Township, JobsOhio and Team NEO. The initiative will bring over 400 new jobs and retain others within Mahoning County.

“This collaborative effort is a great way to help jump-start job growth right here in the Valley,” said Cutrona. “I’m thankful to all those involved in this process and it just shows that Mahoning County remains competitive for economic development within our state. I look forward to seeing the completion of this project.”

The Macy’s project includes the following details regarding job growth, retention and payroll:

•                     Provides 417 new jobs;

•                     Retains 55 jobs; and

•                     Generates $16.8 million in new annual payroll and retains $2.1 million in existing payroll due to the expansion.

Local partners in Mahoning County, JobsOhio and Team NEO have been working collaboratively to win this project a job creation tax credit as it was approved at this week’s meeting. Specifically, the TCA approved a 1.472 percent, eight-year tax credit for the initiative.

The Macy’s Corporate Services project will operate within Jackson Township as they coordinate merchandise distribution and logistics operations for Macy’s locations.
