This week, the House Higher Education Committee favorably reported House Bill 183, known as the Protect All Students Act, out of committee.
The legislation will protect all students in Ohio schools. It requires public and chartered nonpublic schools, educational service centers, and institutions of higher education to designate specified facilities for the exclusive use of students of either the male biological sex or the female biological sex.
After hearing from concerned school leaders and parents across Ohio, Representative Bird sponsored the legislation with Representative Beth Lear.
After the vote, Representative Bird spoke with a reporter from ABC6 to discuss the importance of the legislation.
