Rep. Robinson Announces 2nd Ohio Promise Town Hall Tour and June Virtual Events
COLUMBUS — State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today announced the beginning of the second Ohio Promise Town Hall Tour. The first District 6 Virtual Town Hallwill be held Tuesday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Facebook Live from his official Facebook pageto give updates and discuss the COVID-19 emergency response, police reform and systemic racism, and other Statehouse and legislative updates.
Rep. Robinson is also holding his next “Robinson Roundtable,” office hours on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This will also be held virtually on Facebook.
For those who participate, there will be a new option for those with microphone and webcam access to have a direct Zoom video chat with Rep. Robinson.
“The last few months have been difficult times for Ohioans. With a public health crisis and its economic and social repercussions, the murder of George Floyd and protests over police brutality and systemic racism, and all the issues the state was already facing, the people need to be heard more than ever,” said Rep. Robinson. “I look forward to continuing my efforts to be available to constituents to answer questions and hear their concerns.”
Rep. Robinson has been holding his District 6 Town Hall Tour, which will include town hall events in each of the district’s 17 communities when complete. These are public forums where Rep. Robinson updates his constituents on his office’s activities, policy issues, and Statehouse affairs with opportunities for questions and comments. The first of these events started with the first Ohio Promise tour last summer. Since elected, he has held 11 in-person town halls, each in a different community and one virtual town hall.
Details on the other town halls will come in future announcements, but the current, tentative schedule for the summer series of town halls includes:
- July 20, 2020
- August 23, 2020
- September 7, 2020
Rep. Robinson normally holds his open office hours, or “Robinson Roundtables,” on the second Saturday of each month from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, giving constituents the opportunity to meet with Rep. Robinson one-on-one or in small groups and discuss the issues that matter to them and their families. The current, tentative schedule for upcoming office hours includes:
- July 18, 2020
- August 8, 2020
- September, 12, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, Rep. Robinson and his office are still evaluating when it will be safe to hold in-person events again and will continue to hold events virtually until further notice.
