COLUMBUS – State Representative Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today announced that his bipartisan bill with State Rep. Rick Perales (R-Beavercreek) was signed into law by Governor Mike DeWine at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The legislation, which will grant licensing reciprocity for active duty military families, started in the legislature as House Bill (HB) 133 before being consolidated with Senate Bill (SB) 7 at the end of 2019.

Ohio state Rep. Casey Weinstein (D-Hudson) today issued a statement in support of the finalized version of the state budget, House Bill (HB) 166. Today’s vote follows more than two weeks of gridlock, despite one party rule in both chambers of the legislature, which forced lawmakers to pass a short-term funding extension before finally compromising on a long-term deal late Tuesday.

“Democrats and Republicans alike were able to come together to pass a budget that invests in our communities and fights for exceptional public education at all levels,” said Weinstein. “Although I have my reservations with certain articles, this bill represents an important step in the right direction for our state that will help ensure we live up to the Ohio Promise.”
